One in every ten children in India is disabled and 3% of India's children are mentally/physically challenged. There is therefore an immediate need to raise awareness and sensitize the people of the acute need to empathize and assist differently-abled children.

Cookie Man and Shakti Foundation have been associated since 2000 for a common cause – to assist in the upliftment and betterment of the plight of differently-abled youth in India. To mark the partnership Cookie Man has launched a new initiative by which Cookie Man sells Choc Chips cookies in special tins with artwork created by the children of Shakti Foundation. 15% of the sale proceeds of these specially packaged cookies will go to Shakti Foundation programmes across India. This initiative was launched as part of the Foundation's annual fund Raiser Program, "Tamoghna”.

To start with, Cookie Man will sell these packs only in the city of Chennai where these packs will be available at our stores in Spencer's Plaza, Citi Centre mall and at the Domestic Airport terminal.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. John Lynch, Chairman, Australian Foods (I) Pvt. Ltd. said, “We are delighted to partner with Shakti Foundation as this partnership will help us to serve children with disabilities. This initiative will provide an opportunity for us to start a small but positive action which would help in the process of integration of the physically challenged into mainstream society.”

The Cookie Man– Shakti Foundation boxes come in two sizes large tin for Rs.325/-(600gm) and small tin for Rs.180/-(300gm).
